《24小时第四季》简介： 在这一季里面，杰克·鲍尔（基弗·萨瑟兰 Kiefer Sutherland 饰）戒掉了在第三季中染上的毒瘾，并且离开了CTU而开始为国防部长工作。但是杰克始终摆脱不了与CTU的联系，剧集一开始一场恐怖袭击致使的列车出轨事故使CTU不得不召回杰克进行此事的调查。才深入调查此事没多久，杰克就发现恐怖分子的下一个目标就是国防部长。经过杰克的努力，好不容易解救了被绑架的国防部长，化解了这次危机。原本以为可以松一口气的杰克，却发现刺杀国防部长只是恐怖分子设置的一个扰乱CTU调查的小环节。恐怖分子的真正目的是控制全美国的核电站，通过让核电站超负荷运转引起核泄漏进而威胁全美国，危机这才真正上演……
